Doha Dhow Beavers began in summer 2012 at DESS and moved to Compass (Madinat Khalifah) in January 2015. We run during term time on Thursday evenings. We also go on some amazing tours and trips around Doha. Why not have a look in our gallery to check out what the Beavers have been up to.
If you’re new to Scouting and wondering what it’s all about have a read:
Scouting has been around for over a century now and although loads has changed much has remained the same.
If you think Scouting’s just about knots, woggles and big shorts, then be prepared to be surprised. It’s how Richard Branson, Barack Obama and David Beckham got their start in life and you can benefit too.
There are 400,000 young people in Scouting, spread across five sections: Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Explorer Scouts and the Scout Network. Each section has its own balanced programme of activities, badges and awards.
Beaver Scouts (ages 6-8) are our youngest members – that’s us. We usually meet weekly to take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, visits and good turns, along with plenty of outdoor activities.
Beavers make a promise to do their best, to be kind and helpful and to love God. And we follow the universal Scout motto : Be Prepared!
So if you’re prepared to have some fun and learn something along the way have a browse through the site and get in touch. Scouting has opportunities for all people ages 6+ whether you want your child to join a section or maybe you want to volunteer with one of the groups.
Join the adventure!
*Please note : There is a very long waiting list so it is closed to children 7+, who should instead contact the Cubs section by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org; children under 7 can be added to the Beaver waiting list by contacting email@example.com but please be aware there is still a long wait. Children arriving from other countries who are already invested in another Beaver colony will get priority for any places available.
